I was in the same situation as you were, wasnt to sure whether to get a ps3 or new tv first, I'd get the ps3 first because it still looks amazing on any tv, then later on go for the new tv

Thanks Callan, Bev and Winnie. I will definitely be waiting to get the starter pack.
I don't know how good the graphics will be on my tv though. I've had it for about ten years now, and it was second hand when I got it too. So it is OLD, and small! lol Just more reason to save up and get something better.

If the TV supports 720p, which I doubt if it's that old, PS3 should look great. 1080p is good, but not necessary as most games are 720p at the moment anyway.

Man I have spent all morning deleting all of my old songs on my ps3 and putting on some new ones from my pc (itunes).
So annoying going through each song individual and clicking copy instead of it just automatically coping thrm all

Anyway it's all neat now because they're orginized by Artist name so they're not all over the place

The 40GB is backwards compatible for PS1's, but not PS2.
