Thanks for that explanation, Mobe. 
It will only be a matter of time before game developers put a bit more effort into the game to minimize what you just explained.
But yeah, it would be a bit more noticeable on your tv. lol

Aliasing is what make diagonal lines look jaggy. When you take say a digital photo of a black diagonal line on a white bakground it looks smooth, as the pixels that fall in the not quite black and not quite white area are "averaged". It looks natural. When a game doesn't have it. It looks awful. Every PS3 game I have suffers from it.
On a PC it isn't an issue - you can contol that in your video card setup. So game developers didn't need to worry about it. It is probably the same with 360 games. But PS3, no, we have to put up with crap graphics as they haven't got their act together yet. I mean FFS, the PS3 by the numbers utterly canes the 360, but look at GTA4. The 360 version of it is graphically superior. Higer res on the 360, reasonable antialiasing on the 360.
Yeah, I guess it is noticible on mine (46" 1080p setup). But I sort of judge games against the last PC game I used to play- Americas Army. And you really got to rely on good anti aliasing. It was a difference between spotting a sniper at a long distance and not seeing the sniper at all. And my PC isn't that hot. When I was playing AA:O I had a nvidia 4600 something or other, and a 2.4

Yeah, pretty well my thoughts. The cut scenes look kind of... stretched, like they were rendered for 4:3 not 16:9.
Graphics are pretty ordinary but still good. I've given up expecting my socks to be blown off with PS3 game graphics, honestly. I'd actually be happy with a game in 576p widescreen with some antialiasing. Antialiasing seems a bit much to ask on PS3 games.

As for the controls, they were a little weird to get the hang of at first, but I've worked it out.

Give it time though. I found the controls hard to come to terms with (and still aren't the best) but once I got the major hang of it, it is very enjoyable and pretty scary.
