Namco Bandai have recently announced via a press-release the development of an all-new Naruto videogame, entitled Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, and will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console this Fall. Ultimate Ninja Storm will feature open-world environments, allowing gamers to freely roam around Hidden Leaf Village and throughout the Forest of Death, with players being able to explore the lands and more than 100 missions to complete in which range from races and deliveries to epic battles against the most fearsome of enemies. “Naruto’s PlayStation 3 system debut truly blurs the line between gaming and animation to deliver the most immersive and authentic interactive experience the franchise has ever seen,” said Todd Thorson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations with Namco Bandai Games America, Inc. “Players will marvel at the game’s jaw-dropping graphics, fast-paced 3D fighting and new open-world exploration as they experience a classic Naruto storyline with all of their favourite characters and environments.” Also, Ultimate Ninja Storm will apparently "evolve" the head-to-head fighting genre from previous Ultimate Ninja titles and have gamers battle in full 3D environments, with most of the series' trademark elements set to returns such as the abilities to run up walls and across water, perform various acrobatic and ground attacks and unleash powerful Jutsu by meeting certain requirements. Along with this, the game will also support two-player multiplayer and feature a roster of 25 playable characters from the animated series.
