News \ Official: Firmware 2.40 to include In-Game XMB and Trophies

Confirmed on the Playstation Blog, firmware 2.36 will be released first with security updates improving our Playstation 3's system stability.

It has also been confirmed that firmware 2.40 will include the most-wanted feature on the Playstation 3 ... In-Game XMB. As well as this, 2D trophies will also be included in firmware 2.40.

im pretty sure it will act as achievements like the 360 does. i cant wait for this feature. i just hope games that are coming soon as in over the next 2 months will have this feature too

its the main menu of the ps3 but you can access it from in the game while your playing it so you can play music or recieve and send messages or friend requests right in the middle of the game which would be pretty cool

that one i can answer, its the main menu of the ps3... so for example, when someone sends you a message, you dont have to exact the game to read it, you can just go to the in game XMB and read it
