I look at this next-gen war between 360 and ps3 (I don't include the Wii because it's not a serious competitor, it's simply the secondary console everyone will own alongside their main console, which is the ps3/360/both) as a sort of race. Like a marathon or something. And to the naked eye, the 360 would be perceived the favorite to win right now, because of it's current lead. However, in reality (where I live), this isn't the case. Here's why I think that:
Let's go back to my marathon analogy: Microsoft, in my opinion, is a talented sprinter who just wants to get to the finish line as quickly as possible, and doesn't understand that a marathon (console war) is a long event that requires pacing yourself and preparing for the long haul. They've only ever been in one console war before, and they were soundly beaten by Sony's ps2 (because the ps2 had better games, and had a better grip on the market). As such, they've looked at the ps2's success in a nutshell, and tried to emulate it by 1) getting their system out there first, like the ps2, and 2) having the best games on the system. However, they've made some critical errors in attempting this daring feat.
