The games will work but only with the original guitars from GH1 & 2 or a wireless guitar built for GH1 & 2. To get the guitars to work thou on PS3 you will need a special converter which can be found on the US ebay. Also its been reported the whammy bars wont work even with the convertor.

I picked up a extra les paul guitar from JB, only $69 but I think stock is pretty much non-existant at the moment. Maybe try & see if they can order you one.
