The thing to take not with blade runner is that alot of people WONT like it, its kind of a niche movie.

I decided to order the 5 disc Blade Runner Blu-Ray, hope it won't take too long... what's Bald Runner snickersma? I should have ordered that one too...
Anyone know what the packaging for this one's like? Is it just a thick Blu-Ray case?
Also, on packaging, why are the aussie releases normal spine thickness, but the USA ones are half thickness? Looks kinda odd on my shelf, next to one another...

LOL - Bald Runner is the sequel LOL
Im hoping its a normal case - like Planet earth with 5 disc capacity. I dont want a big fancy case - I've got hardly any shelf room as it is! I dont like those actual box sets you get from Ezydvd for example - who wants to have 4-5 boxes stacked up etc?
I ordered 2001A A space Odyssey at the same time - AMazon said that though 2001 would be late January before shipped - they had posted Blade Runner (at no cost to me) anyway! They shipped it last Friday - but my wifey seems to think it could still take 4-5 weeks to get to me - I was hoping 506 days LOL

i ordered 2001, The Host, Fifth Element and Close Encounters, and it shipped on Dec 4th, and arrived on 21st i think - this is to melbourne, so hope that helps... can't wait to watch blade runner in HD - will be spectacular...

I received my copy of Blade Runner (5 disc set) from amazon yesterday just had a quick look at it and the picture is fantastic. Bye bye to my standard dvd which i just noticed the audio is only 2.0! it just doesn't cut it anymore.

Mm pay day today - so I got Enter the Dragon + Full Metal Jacket (Specials of course) - Ok they are old films but better than 99% of the bull**** released nowadays!
LOL for example - would you but "Gothika" on blu ray for twice the price - compared to say a Stanley Kubrick masterpiece (Full metal jacket) because its more recent?? Seriously you dont deserve Blu ray if the answer is yes! LOL

Yeah i was going to get Full metal jacket but then i heard they're releasing A few Kubrick movies in special editions so i held off. I've been waiting for The Shining & 2001 to be released locally also(They were supposed to be last month) but i think i might get them from amazon coz who knows when they might finally come out here.

Ive ordered 2001 from Amazon but not delivered till late Jan ir mid feb. Im sure it was the special edition - damn I better check - they better not send me an inferior early release! it was delayed because of release issues - so I guess it must be a newer release. Man you gotta be careful with this stuff LOL

Well I ordered 300 and Debbie Does Dallas Again from Amazon.
Apparently DDDA is a 3 disc blu-ray including the original movie, the 2007 remake and a reality series they made on the making of the re-make!

EDIT: just checked out amazon & it has DDDA listed as blu-ray but then under format it says DVD ? Or is that because they are yet to add a blu-ray format option when making the ads.

Hey crazy nites the same thing worried me, it is region free because i checked an adult film movie shop which said so, but the fact it says blu-ray in the title and dvd in description worried me! It cost $10 more than the one that didn't say blu-ray so it'd better be or it's false advertising and I'll complain to amazon!

No country for old men was the best film i have seen since Se7en.

I like Kubrick from a story perspective (particularly ACW and FMJ), but from a cinematic viewpoint his films have always been pretty pedestrian. I don't honestly understand where his reputation comes from.
Also be a aware at least some of those US releases will be region locked. At least all of the fox ones, and most of the Sony new releases (not back catalog)

MObe1969 sorry mate I have to disagree. Whilst FMJ has been criticised for a weak second half - that movie is still an amazing piece of cinema.
Have you seen Barry Lnydon and Doctor Stranglove? 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the greatest movies ever made - despite its pretensions.
The only one I didnt really like as A clockwork Orange. The rest are incredible films, and all have indelible Kubricks stamp - the cinematograhy for example was decades ahead it its time.
