Apple TV is basically a media centre but it's extremely small and lets you listen to you music and play all your movies on your HD TV via Component or HDMI

It's excellent, fast, streamlined, effective and cheap.
If you want to stream HD videos, the Apple TV is the way to go - it has 802.11n, instead of the PS3's 802.11g
However the Apple TV can only handle up to 720p But overall, it is one of the best entertainment boxes out there.

why don't you just buy a wireless HD media gate, full lan, put whatever HDD you want in it, plays upto 1080i. and doesn't have all the proprietry restriction that all that apple crap has.

Apple file structure for music. Having to use iTunes to sort music. No organised managable file structures unless using apple software......
I am not saying apple is crap in general just the restrictions. I like my ipod.

That's if you allow iTunes to take over your library, there is a choice to not let iTunes organise your library.
If you're talking about Protected AAC, then yes it sucks - but you can hold off and buy iTunes Plus songs, same price but no DRM.

Loaded it, medialink found the PS3 and is sharing all the folders i want, but PS3 cant find the server... any suggestions??
