This game wont appear on the 360, but konami will almost certainly bring their prequels/sequels to the 360. Unless sony fork out big bucks to cover konami's losses from being restricted to only one platform. I haven't played a snake game since the 1st ps game, this is one of the reasons I'm considering a ps3 purchase.

I don't think you stress just how much of being its own genre MGS is. It has an extreme story line, mind boggling gameplay, and powerful themes (if you ever read the article on mgs:tus) that all come together - now with lifelike graphics - to create a world and experience you, yourself, have to live to believe!

(maybe i went a bit overboard..)

No that's not the reason. Snake was injected with the FOXDIE virus in shadow moses (mgs1), a virus designed to kill people with particular genetic markers via cardiac arrest. Snakes entire body is starting to decay, one of the side-effects is rapid aging. He's been told that he has six months to live.

For the people that ask if this is a FPS, it will have that option, but it is a 3rd person shooter game. It will have the same 3rd person camera as MGS3 Subsistence.

We don't know yet, the trailer is cut before we see what happens. There are a lot of theories on what happens but it's very unlikely kojima will show us a main plot point before the game is released. So its very unlikely that he kills himself.

I assume from this question you don't know too much about MGS, Therefore I recommend GTA IV, I bought the PS3 for MGS4.
