Want to test my new Sony 46Inch XBR series LCD with my playstation, what blu ray title do you think will test the tv? Something with a good variety of colours?

try and find Final Fantasy: Spirits within. that movie has a tonne of blacks and really bright colors and it looks incredible on blu ray. So that would be my recomendation.

The Simpson's is a great one, it got a 5 star rating for image.

Others are - Pirates, spidy, Pursuit of happyness or any cartoon one. Some blu-ray movies are way better then others, just depends on how the studio do them.

SWAT. heaps of fast action scenes (ie the helicopter blades), the men wear black in very dark scenes.

What you are looking for is dark scenes to test for blacks and fast/high action (ie stuff blowing up, windows getting shot up, car wheels turning and so on) to look for tearing of the picture.

from my experience cartoons are the worst for testing. Stuff like simpsons is pointless because it blocks of solid colours. doesnt prove/show anything. and they always look good. To test this out get a bad quality divx of a real show and a bad quality cartoon and the cartoon will be very watchable.
