Hi everyone,
I'm a regular poster on myii and I just got a PS3 with my Bravia TV. It should be coming in the next couple of weeks. Is there anything I need to know, do or any other advice.

buy a HDMI cable as the ps3 dosnt come with one 
and it will make your ps3 look amazing on your bravia.

what you need to buy is something that is going to pass the time over the next two weeks. Im still waiting for my ps3 to be delivered and I am so keen it seems like an eternity. especially with everyone talking about all the great games and how good they look on the bravia.
It feels like time is going backwards.
Ive already bought
- a hdmi cable(ugly)
- Blu ray remote
- Extra Controller
- 4 games (motorstorm, fight night 3, nba homecourt, and RFOM --- COD4 is nect on the list)
All of this sitting and waiting at home with no PS3 to play it on yet.
Surely not long to go now.
But enough babbling. thats what ive bought anyway.

Damn pollyemu the wait will be worth it just to see MotorStorm played on a Bravia alone, you will be foaming at the mouth how good that game looks on a Bravia, 3 words. In, Credi, Ble....one word then

Bought a nice entertainment unit with the TV so its all ready to go with a section bare for the PS3. How many people stand the PS3 up or sit it down flat??? still not sure how to set it up on the unit.
and Callan5 thats the talk I mentioned above that puts me to the point of obsession thinking about when it will finally arrive.

Lol pollyemu, im sure it wont be too far now, each day that passes, means its ever so closer to arriving. Doesnt really matter either way if you lie your PS3 down or stand it up, i personally lie mine down, i get kind of phoebic if its standing up as it may get knocked over

if you have a computer with windoes media player 11 (the latest version) you can stream all the music from your computer to your ps3 over your home network
also if you have A HD tv and your ps3 if conected up using a HDMI(high defintion mutimedia Interface) cable then the ps3 can upscale your DVD's making them look even better than before.

Im getting my 4th PS3 this week! Hopefully i can hang on to this one Im getting Uncharted with it and a hdmi cable of coarse! Whats coming out in the next couple of months worthy of purchase then and dont say Unreal Tournament 3 as its terrible looking on ps3 compared to my pc version.

They can be a range of prices but you dont have to go for the big expensive ones, a $70 - $50 work perfectly, something like this would do fine.

As for other other must have accessories, definitely grab the HDMI cable which costs around $70 also at place like Harvey Norman.

Yeh I was thinking about getting that. My dad offered to buy it but some stupid thing made me say no. Now I have to save for it. I think ill start with a game, then a hdmi cable then a headset

Just grab yourself a PS3 accessories pack from JB Hi-Fi , its only $44 & has a HDMI cable & optical cable in it aswell as a cable to charge your controller. HDMI cables are all pretty much the same so you dont need a expensive one.

There are a few Jabra headsets for about $35 in places like JB I got my headset with Warhawk and i think you need to have one How else would you insult your opponent's?

The JB HI pack is worth it. Don't spend $70 on a HDMI cable, thats a rip off. If you want to buy the cable itself, get a triple rated 1.3a hdmi cable off ebay for under $20, I've bought two (one for my hdmi dvd player I had) and they work a real treat.
Word of advice know what you want an definately shop around. PS3 gear is pricey, but looking at places like here: you'll do yourself a favour: www.ecogamer.com/

Grrrrrr...i remember when i bought my Samsung LCD from Harvey Norman. The salesguy asked me what i would be hooking up to it. I told him, my PS3. So then he tried selling me a $300 HMDI cable. He was telling me that i need this cable to get full 1080P display and if i bought anything cheaper id just be wasting my time. And i was like dude, the LCD i just bought off YOU doesnt even support 1080P (only 1080i). Most salespeople are such idiots...Anyway point is, i bought a $40 HDMI cable and im quite happy with it
