Nothing is impossible. It just takes time. also what makes you an expert? can you write machine code (coding that is actually hard programmed onto a chip) and design complex circuits?

and finally, what do you think sony is going to say? They are the last people that will admit that it can be modded.

The one of the problems is the online updates, that is one of the main ways sony can stuff up mod chip developers. But thats why they have to make it "Stealth" so the ps3 doesnt know the difference.

i have already spent $1k on the conosole, and now they want me to buy a usb hub? come on, they couldnt even put an usb port on the back of the ps3 to help make everything look nice and clean.

Concerning a PS3 modchip... after my warrantys up.. chip.. STRAIGHT IN! (if theres one available by this time next year). I learned my warrantly lesson with a frozen menu Wii! Anyway for those that think buying games is easier and that yeh yeh its all good and i'm not encouraging illegal activity here, but simply put, a LOT and i mean the majority of PS3 games do NOT warrant cash being shelled out for 'em. All these movie games & other trash that are just big money spinners deserve to be copied the **** out of! Thats why i read heaps of reviews etc. before i buy a game.. I'm not shelling out for a **** game!

I'd like to see what modchippers can come up with and what extra things they can let you do on the somewhat restricted PS3.

just a bitch here - how **** is it that the Logitech bluetooth media keyboard for the PS3 doesn't support linux! All because of some trademark in the bluetooth software that makes it incompatible with Linux! 2 minutes could have been spent by someone at Logitech to change this but NOOOOOO! They have to be difficult! They've lost my purchase! haha

This strikes me as illegal - I mean - once you buy the hardware - it's yours to do with what you like... unless there is a warning in the manual advising "opening your console's cover will render it useless" then it would be possible to sue them for the cost of a replacement unit...

No it is completely fine, read mateo's post earlier.

I prefer to buy games myself, it will be sometime before a chip and then another while (if ever) that you can play online. I like the console and certain games and will continue to support the developers.

I don't mind paying a little/lot extra when I know it goes towards the developers making more great games (well some of the money goes to them. Some goes to the store where the games are bought, and then who knows what else...).
It's the same with buying movies and music.
