Ok guys! This is just a quick poll to see what the opinion of the current FW updates we have been receiving is...

Mainly due to the amazing FW 2.17 we have received earlier this week... I for one don't feel like downloading 100+ mb to have it do... well... not much really...

I only evert turn on my PS3 to play games so I get really angry when I have to download firware.

The only thing i don't like about them is how you have to update it anyway because that's the only way you can sign into the PSN again.

same as they are now, 100mb is nothing really, and even if it fixes little issues its a good thing, slthough i guess they could release it all in a big update but then the next update would be 100mb bigger. So as they are now is good for me.

I wouldn't mind every two to three months with incremental improvements, and a couple of BIG ones ever 6 months. I like them...when they include something practical. I'm waiting for flash 9 to magically appear in the browser...yeah that will be a wait?

It wouldnt be so bad if they werent sooooo big. They take like 2 hours to download on my connection.. and its annoying as all hell cause all i wanna do is access the store or something, and i have to download an update i dont even want (otherwise i'd get em when they have made significant progress)

Sorry I should explain. Significant change to me in the past updates was: ability to use pics as backgrounds, themes, extra visualization in music player, divx support... 2.17 being the prime example of NOT significant, as in it doesn't add anything to my black box, for me to get enjoyment from (yes the new visualizer rocks don't it???)

hey it it makes my ps3 better and more powerfull and adaptable then i'm all for it! i understand the discomfort of having minor noticable changes, but i'm sure there are behind the scenes fixes that is not common knowledge.

so bring on the updates!

They should work out a way to only give the info required........ Although I just download the updates from work, that way it only takes a few minutes and can apply it as soon as I get home
