You obviously havent sunk your teeth into Tales of Symphonia, the only Gamecube game to still fetch ABOVE retail on Ebay. I've finished all the 3D FF games and ToS is better than all of them (not by much). The whole game is long (40 hrs+) the combat system is unique and works better than i ever expected, and there are more storyline-changing plot-twists and turns than every FF game combined. The whole game is genius and is the best RPG i have ever played. Even when you've finished the game you have the option to carry over stuff like skills, gold, play-time, recepies, maps etc etc to the next playthrough. SOOO many side-quests too. The only tiny beef i have with the game is sometimes its a little corny "We must save the world, everyone is relying on us, everyone deserves to be treated equally!" etc etc and Cel-Shaded graphics aren't everyones cup of tea, but they look amazing and don't look overly cartoony like Zelda: Wind Waker. If you know of someone with a GC/Wii and are looking for the best RPG ever, i think it's worth a shot. once you're 8-10 hours into it the story starts to change and you get hooked immediatly.
Plus it's made by Namco, not Square.
if it comes out on the Wii store, i will have to get it. I never got gaming consoles when i was young. Had to buy everything myself. So i missed the whole game cube era.

i don't really know about present.. maybe oblivion or folklore..?
BUT! in a years time (we can only hope..) it will be a tie up between the two square enix games, Star Ocean4 and Final Fantasy XIII.
I'm really way too excited for SO4 as it's not even confirmed for ps3 (but lets face it, is there a better machine?) but it's gonna be just so amazing!!

You mean 3 square games (maybe even 4): Final Fantasy XIII/VS. Final Fantasy The Last Revenant(sp?) & Star Ocean 4! Exciting times indeed!

I'm confused as to what you mean about the Wii Store. If you mean the Virtual Console to download classic games, then it will never go there since it is too big. Nes, Snes, N64, Megadrive, Master System and Turbographix games will be, they max out at 64mb. Tales of Symphonia is on 2 GC disks, each of which are 1.8gig. Way too big for the 512mb of internal Wii memory. Luckily the Wii IS a Gamecube. You can open the flaps on the top to reveal 4 GC controller ports and 2 GC Memory card slots. If you have a Wii you would have to grab a GC controller (Wavebirds are awesome) and a GC memory card and the GC disk will go straight into the standard Wii disk slot. Its worth having GC controllers anyway for games that support it like Metal Slug Anthology, Mortal Kombat Armageddon and Smash Bros Brawl (those are the ones i can think of immediatly). Tales of Symphonia is the best RPG i have ever played and should be owned/finished by everyone who loves RPGs
