PS3 Games \ best PS3 RPG so far?

i get my PS3 next week and its coming with COD4 so thats my FPS fix all done, now the mrs owes me a present from xmas so im thinking ill just get a PS3 game to tide me over. now i love my RPG's but being new to PS3 im a little unsure as of what to get, so far im leaning towards oblivion GOTY ed. played it on my 360 for around 20 hours and really got into it! but i ask, is there any other good, emersing RPG's around on PS3 yet? i know the new FF is on the way but im talking in the present.

yeh Oblivion GOTY Ed is your best bet. There really isn’t any other good rpgs at the moment 
.
Level 5's White Knight Chronicles looks like its going to be really good but its not coming out till later in the year. And FF XIII will be great but its not coming till 2009.

I completely agree with longarms here. Since your only choices are Enchanted Arms and Oblivion (goty preferred). I would go for Oblivion without even thinking about it. White Knight is the 1st decent JRPG to hit the system...

Folklore is ok I guess to, Way better then Enchanted Arms. It doesnt compare to Oblivion though

GOTY ed has the shivering isles exp pack included. hence the reason why i cant figure out how its cheaper?! oh well, theres crazier things in the world. i mean hell, carlton might even win a game this year... i can only hope.

origianlly oblivion came with a downloadable context exp called 'knights of the nine' whcih had extra quest lines etc. and a add on pack that you had to buy called 'the shivering isles' with new areas and quests to do/explore. now the kinghts of the nine was just included in the PS3 oblivion game but the shivering isles was a buyable add on. but in the GOTY ed. its all included in the one pack.
think of the shivering isles kinda like the burning crusade for WOW.

folklore is quite cheap now, I've seen it for about $59
and there is tonnes of downloadable content. 2-3 of the DLC packs are free as well.

Oblivion for sure and there is about 1000 reasons to like this game, the content almost feels endless, so there is plenty of value

i haven't played oblivion but heard nothing but good things about it. i hired enchanted arms the other week and it was ok i guess, got like 15% thru and just didn't play it after that. you can get it on ebay for less than $40 new so thats prob almost worth it if you wanna kill some time

yeah i think im just gunna go oblivion GOTY ed. i liked it on 360 so im sure ill just get right back into it on PS3.
on a side note, theres an RPG coming out on 360 called 'too human' any plans for this on PS3?

no its for 360 only. And its more of a diablo Hack and slash collect-a-thon than a regular RPG but if you liked diablo then i quess you would like it.

You obviously havent sunk your teeth into Tales of Symphonia, the only Gamecube game to still fetch ABOVE retail on Ebay. I've finished all the 3D FF games and ToS is better than all of them (not by much). The whole game is long (40 hrs+) the combat system is unique and works better than i ever expected, and there are more storyline-changing plot-twists and turns than every FF game combined. The whole game is genius and is the best RPG i have ever played. Even when you've finished the game you have the option to carry over stuff like skills, gold, play-time, recepies, maps etc etc to the next playthrough. SOOO many side-quests too. The only tiny beef i have with the game is sometimes its a little corny "We must save the world, everyone is relying on us, everyone deserves to be treated equally!" etc etc and Cel-Shaded graphics aren't everyones cup of tea, but they look amazing and don't look overly cartoony like Zelda: Wind Waker. If you know of someone with a GC/Wii and are looking for the best RPG ever, i think it's worth a shot. once you're 8-10 hours into it the story starts to change and you get hooked immediatly.
Plus it's made by Namco, not Square.

I find it's better to ask real people than use google.
Some sites assume you already know what your looking for.
When asking real people, you can also ask them to clarify any points you might be confused about. Unlike when reading on a cold dead website.
Besides, this is a PS3 site. So it's fine to ask about PS3 games.
