The difference is so insignificant on a TV that is less than 50" that you'd be stupid to go out and buy HDMI cables if you already had compenent. There is a difference, but nothing that would justify paying for the cables. The differences aren't unbelievably noticeable unless you're comparing the two on two very big TVs.

I'd say this is a pretty hollow victory for the sony fanboys when you consider the 360 still craps all over the ps3 in terms of the exclusive games line up. I'm referring to where the 360 was 15 months into is life cycle as opposed to where the ps3 is now.
Looking at the top 10 rated ps3 games on most respectable online review sites 1 out of the top 10 titles is an exclusive with the rest being dated ports. For the record I'm console nuetral but I've yet to take my ps3 out of the box as there's just no reason to do so at the moment.
Considering the money sony will want to recuperate after their HD media tussle you can expect things to get much worse, especially when studios phase out releasing new movies on SD dvd. 2008 will be the last year of SD dvd releases.
