well put it this way..

i remember playing those old school gta games (birds eye view gameplay) and playin Vice city..

but tbh all i did was just steal cars, drive em around etc.. never actually went through the game. so i can't say that its on the top of my list, but with all the hype on GTA games and especially GTa4, i think that i have no choice but to get it one day

I agree. A Wii San Andreas remake with 16:9 480p graphics and motion controls to improve aiming and allow you to REALLY hit people with bats would probably outsell every previous GTA. Rockstar are too blind to see the potential.

Tho i have played the Ps2 GTA games and i far prefered the 2D ones. I did like Saints Row tho, so maybe i'll like GTAIV. Too soon to tell. I would say GTA is far from 'the best'. I like most of the games to average 97 or above on Metacritic (averages every review to get a final score):

4.Perfect Dark (97)
5.NFL 2K1 (97)
6.Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (97)

9.Metroid Prime (97)
10. Grand Theft Auto III (97)
11. Super Mario Galaxy (97)

I've finished all the Metroid Prime games about 8 times each (except 3), i finished Ocarina of Time about 15 times, Perfect Dark about a dozen times, i own Soul Calibur 2 on GC and love it (and rule at it) and are a HUGE fan of anything Tony Hawk (and i honestly think Downhill Jam on Wii is the best one eva). I finished Goldeneye countless times (over 2 dozen) and think Tales of Symphonia, FFX and Paper Mario: TTYD are 3 of the best RPGs ever made (since FFVII). GTA is simply dead shallow compared to the games i've listed. It has barely any depth. If beating up prostitutes for cash gets you off then go for it.

You know what'll crack me up, if the game suffers from the same thing listed in this topic: www.myps3.com.au/

Chances are, especially since the game has to also fit on a 360 disk as well without anything extra on the extra-capacity Blu-Ray disk, GTAIV is going to suffer from the 'great graphics but short game length' problem. If that happens, i'll be laughing so hard. Then again, i highly doubt it: kotaku.com/
