Hi, I just wondering how long you should leave the PS3 on for, cuz i treated mine like a laptop, 3-4hrs max.

I found its can get very very warm

Nothing has ever happened

If it gets warm alot of the time its because the room or space its in isn't properly ventilated

Just open a window or something

I wake up this morning. Go to the lounge room to find my sister asleep on the couch and my ps3 on, which was playing a dvd all night. I touch the back of it and its is like an oven.

However, when there's a network connection problem (random, don't know why), then I decide to give my PS3 a few hours rest. Cool down

Same here man, i only leave it on overnight when i am downloading a demo.

But the longest it has been on while playing a game is around 4 hours, no longer, or i get worried.

ps3's can handle being left on 24-7 as long as you dont let them get tooo hot. if the fan noise gets really really loud (which means its getting a bit too hot, just put a portable fan in front of it (facing away of course, so as to blow the hot air and dust away from the console, not into it)....simple
