Your 2nd PS3 died ?? I recall you saying it only had a loose PS3 logo so you returned it.

Yea, that's what I do too hehe.

You know, if I had a second PS3 ... I'd leave it on 24/7 just folding. While my first PS3 will be off, and only on when I want to play games/watch blu-ray movies

But who would a second PS3? Wait ... unless you get a cheap 20GB one from the States ...

If they are in a well ventilated area you shouldn't get heating issues. But in an entertainment unit all enclosed, or sitting directly ontop or another appliance like an Amp they may heat up a bit after a hard session.

One day Folding@Home may indeed help find a cure for cancer, will you then think its stupid, you or someone you love might need a cure one day & im pretty sure then you will think it was a wonderful concept. Its a longshot but I think anything that can help is worth a go, its your right to not participate but I dont think that makes the idea stupid, the PS3 is designed to be able to stay on for long periods so its not like you are gonna damage the console.

Folding uses very little bandwidth, the only time it sends or recieves data is when its finished a project, it then sends it back & your PS3 d/l's a new one & they aint very big at all, my internet speed is ADSL 1500 & it takes less than a minute to upload a finished project & download a new one.
