It already takes a LONG time to make excellent HD graphics. The ONLY achilles heel for the HD generation is the time it takes to make HD games. Obviously it costs more, but more to the point is the time. Develoers dont wanna spend too long making a game, they want to get it out to sell well and make them money. But because of the technology of the 360/Ps3, it takes a lot of time to mae the games look amazing. That is why a lot of Ps3/360 games are 12 hours long at the most, a lot are under 8 hours. Personally, i wont buy a game under 12 hours of gameplay simply because it's a waste of cash. Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda: Twilight Princess both took me about 35 hours to finish and THAT is worth the money, less than 12 hours is NOT. I love me some HD graphics, i have an excellent PC and i love good looking games, but i love lengthy, beautiful and challenging games more. Why do you think it's taking forever to get out FFXIII. FF games are 30 hours+ all the time, but to get the Ps3 FF game to that length, with the amount of time it takes to create HD graphics, i wouldnt expect the game till mid-09. Its a damn shame HD had to happen, i love long games. I've put over 100 hours into Tales of Symphonia on GC, one of the best rpgs ever made, but very very few games in the future will allow that.
