the chances are that it would automatically locate a server with the lowest ping and connect to that, but we won't know for sure until it comes out.

You still might not be able to even join a friends game, if yours is a USA version and you want to play someone with an AU version.
and this MIGHT really matter. What if the online gaming is the most awsome multiplayer to ever hit the ps3, and the us and au versions are not compatible?
I'm just gonna pick this up from where we left off.
I haven't played a game yet with online, where you can't play between US and AUS. theres no reason why you shouldn't be able too.

Great! I'm getting a bit sick of checking all the different threads regarding the same game.
My main concern is the compatibility between the AUS & US version in online play. Will the US version have the ability to connect to Aus severs hosted by players with the AUS version GTAIV.
My opinion is that there shouldn't be an issue as only the single player mode has been censored. What do you guys think?

Yeh that and if there is any paied DLC for the Playstation version of GTA IV you might not be able to buy it if you have the US version of the game.
Unless you have an american credit card or use one of the online Cards like entropay.

thats a really good point.. is DLC installable on both the UA and US versions...?
hmmm well i've already got the US ver ordered, so if it doesn't go as smoothly as i planned it'll just get onto eBay, no big drama really.

Anyone know if NZ has a R18 classification for games? It'd be alot more convenient to order from there rather than the extreme measure of ordering from the states.

NZ is getting the full version. I have checked this with family who have contacted the appropriate sources. I will keep my pre order from AUS as it is the SE version. and i will import the NZ version.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I've finally come up with my conclusion regarding which version I should buy... I went back and forth for many days.
I've gone with the US R18+ GTA IV from play-asia and ended up getting the dualshock 3 as well! Using the coupon codes, I ended up saving a few dollars... extra booze money for the weekend, woohoo!
Hope I wont regret my decision!

nz is always the best place to import pal games from esp as they are so much closer so shipping times will probably be faster

It should take 1 - 4 days with USP courier...and it still ends up being cheaper than buying it here.
