They we're saying 25/4 before on iamfourtwozero's site. 21 days after the XBOX360 launch and just before GTA4, so a bit of marketing spoiling tactic. I think they will defo be out b4 the GTA4 launch (29/4) as they will lose too many DLC purchases otherwise when peeps are totally into GTA instead.
Oh yeah, it was mentioned that it costs 800 XBOXlive credits (is that right?), which is roughly $13 AUS (apparently), so expect it around that figure on the PSN store...

BFBC isnt coming out until around June

they look sweet, but i dont know if they are worth it, GTA will be out, and they way their stupid lobby system works youd be lucky to ever get a game on one of the new levels

I agree, we pay for these games and they should supply updates free to keep us all interested in the games.
Atleast Burnout Paradise updates will be free of charge, for the moment anyway.
Question: Why don't they charge for map updates on pc games?

They make the game, you buy it. There's no requirement on their part to continue work on that game to keep you interested at all. I don't see Pong makers releasing downloadable paddles and backgrounds...
While I'm not over the moon about having to pay either, Infinity Ward isn't a charity and it's employees aren't volunteers. They did their job releasing a game, people bought it; now they're putting in a bit more work and hope people will buy a little bit more. They've probably got better stuff to do like make COD5 and make money, rather than make free updates they're not obligated to release (except if there's bugs that need fixing imo). That said, I wish they were free too and probably won't buy them now that I know this

Still doesn't answer my question as to why they charge us for maps on consoles but not on pc's.

Because on th PC version, people would just copy the maps and hand them around, meaning it may as well be free.
