Social \ HELP format 320gb External HDD to FAT32

Does anyone know of a free program which can format my 320gb (298gb) Western Digital external drive to FAT32. As the PS3 can't read NTFS formats. Any help would be more than appreciated. Thanks

windows should give you an option to do that, just contect to pc and click format...i dont know myslef as i dont have an external, so yea, try that and if not, someone should know how

Ive tried this but Windows (Any windows distro) cannot format anything over 32gb as FAT32

No it won't. Windows won't like anything greater than 30gb...maybe 32 I can't remember...Anyways, PM me your email and I'll send you a tiny exe that will do it for you

lol I can assure you it's not a money-making scheme...They aren't offering a $299.95 Addon Ultimute Update Pack that allows fat32 formats for >32gb. Check wikipedia for a reason, I think it's decent but again I can't remember

use a little app called fat32format, i suspect it's the same one chuz is talking about. really easy to use and i did my 300GB in a couple of seconds.

Just one question about fat32format.exe i tried to run it but the cmd prompt appears for a split second - is that normal? or did it crash?
However i had to resort to using the Windows format utility (on the XP setup disc). Of coarse this only limited my HDD to 32gb but thats all i need for now. I just wanted to restore my PS3 backup which is only 9gb!! ..Only.
But please let me know how to use the fat32format.exe utility so i don't have to resort to this option. Cheers

yeah run it from command prompt from the directory where you saved it and follow the steps, it's a piece of cake
