My favourite music ensemble is Opeth. And I say "musical ensemble" because "band" doesn't begin to describe the glory Opeth possess. Musical geniuses. The single band that gives music meaning anymore. The modern day Pink Floyd or led Zeppelin, if you will.

But in general, I'm a broad metal fan. Mostly into a lot of death metal, thrash and an odd power metal band here and there but my true love lies with prog. Bands like Opeth, Dream Theater and Meshuggah.

I used to be a huge fan of melodeath back in the day when I was in high school. Bands like At The Gates, Dark Tranquility, Scar Symmetry and In Flames made me overly wet haha. But they started to slip halfway into their careers. Especially In Flames...can't begin to describe how much they failed when "Whoracle" was released. Ultimately, I simply got bored of melodeath.

But Arch Enemy remain a great band. I saw them at Gigantour last year and they were very impressive. Plus, Arch Enemy's ex-guitarist, Fredrik Åkesson, now plays in Opeth lol.

True, but Dimebag was more of a musical influence for me than John Lennon was. Love The Beatles but Dimebag was in a league of his own

Well I wouldnt say I disliked him but I didnt think he was anything special, obviously very talented thou but still there are other guitarist that are just as good. Im sure if I was into Pantera more when I was younger I might have a different opinion thou, Im more a Zakk Wylde fan hey but thats proberly because of Ozzy. Now before you consider shooting me, hanging me, then burning me, its just my opinion & it really shouldnt matter as we all have our own tastes in music, but we are all metalheads one way or another so put down that gun & ill buy you a beer LOL.

yeah arch enemy are pertty damn good live.. i saw them last year (i think it was the machinehead tour where it was arch enemy, trivium and machinhead) it was good sh!t. hahah it was great that trivium played before machinehead - all the kids cleared the mosh before machinehead came on and we got right to the front

Well you don't have to worship him of course. But if you don't RESPECT Dimebag, then you deserve to be killed, lol. He was a great influence on many artists and wrote some killer songs. You don't have to be the most talented Guitarist to be good, you just have to be talented at writing the most inspirational music. He isn't my favourite guitarist, Mike Amott is, and I don't listen to Pantera a whole heap (not as much as other things) but I still respect his skills and capabilities...before he was shot of course. Sorry if this didnt make any sense, bit busy at the moment. Forever Metal!

so anyone who doesn't have the same taste in music as you should be shot and hung...and burnt a little. well then the way i see it is that you would sort of become the same person that killed Dimebag because you dont like a choice they have fully made then you go and kill them which i believe is the same with Dimebag.

I corrected myself. I meant to say RESPECT which I did in the correction. Sure, I hate some artists but I still respect what they have done in the music world. e.g I HATE KISS yet I still appreciate and respect what they hav done as far as the music business goes.
