Hey guy's, just a question
If I have a TV (LG DLP Projection TV), and a HD box thing connected to it, would i still get the benefits of the full HD 1080p thing?
or would i have to get a tv with a built-in HD tuner?
i really dont have the money to pay for a $4000+ TV

Hey Vinzor The answer to your question is NO the TV would only go up to 1080i. All 1080p models came out later and have HD tuner built-in as standard.
From what I know, there are only 2 rear projection TV models that can output 1080p: Sony SXDRs. Sorry that your set is not 1080p, but really 1080i and/or 720p is good enough for gaming and watching movies.

Just to let you know, 1080p is 1920x1080 resolution, your TV is only 1280 x 720

Helpppppp!!!
My TV is LG LCD 42 inch full HD 1080p. It's 8 months old. Usually there is no problem with free HDTV, very good quality.
However 2 weeks ago channel 9 HDTV ( channel 90) suddenly busted, no voice/sound coming out. The picture quality remain intact - good quality.
No problem with the Standard Definition Channel (i.e channel 9)
and all other HDTV channel is ok ( 1 Channel Ten HD, 70 - Channel Seven HD,30 Chanell SBS HD and 22 - Channel ABC HD)
I have tried to scan the channel again ... stil doesn't work??
Any idea why....?? and how to solve it

now thats a strange problem , if its only 8 months old its under warranty, take it back.

the thing is i am not sure whether the tv is faulty.... can it be the 'reception' is bad? but it was ok before.... 
the good thing is i did took the extended warranty ( total of 5 years)

If your picture is fine but your not recieving any sound then its faulty. If its only doing it on the one HD channel then Id say maybe theres someone wrong with the HD Tuner in your TV.

The Samsung 6 series is crazy in my opinion,... 50,000:1 Contrast Ratio I think is what I was told somewhere. Anyway I am happy with my Sony Bravia X series 40" ... Its great quality and gets the job done perfectly.

It wont do any harm to ring LG or where you got the TV from & describe the problem to them, explain it only does it on 9 HDTV & that it used to be fine. TV is under warranty so take advantage of that & get it fixed, it has to be the TV Tuner or a setting.

50,000:1 is such a bull**** contrast ratio. Because it's dynamic they can just put whatever number in there they want based on the picture they took it off.

The PS3 looks great on my 50" plasma...no I dont get burn in! Bigger is better and I can testify from 2.5 metres a 768 screen displays SD better than a 1080p screen. Remember very few games are 1080p (most recent games are less than 720p) think about the details lost filling in an extra 400 pixels compared to 130!?
