I got the 26" Samsung LCD with inbuilt HD tuner for under 1200 they had a special at dicksmith
add a HDMI cable n u'll enjoy 1080i on this awesome tv
main reason I picked Samsung over Sony is the Warranty
Samsung = 3 years
Sony = 1 year
