The game features a deeper and more immersive Road to the Show mode, a new Progressive Batting Performance feature which rewards players for consistent hitting, and conversely penalizes them for prolonged slumps.

And also improved online play with the newly introduced SCOUT (or "SportsConnect Online User Tracking") feature, which allows users to save personalized game settings and use those settings to quickly find online opponents.

MLB08: The Show will be released on the 26th of August.

I have been playing MLB07 the Show and I rocks! Too bad i wouldn't be able to finish it because i'd be getting MLB08 from the US this weekend. It only cost around AUS$65 over there.

Blaze,

The way the batting system works is that first of all you need to hold down the L2 (I'm nott 100% sure, just trying to remember off the top of my head)to bring up the hitting menu. Then you have to select the zone you think the pitch will be thrown to using the left stick. You also need to guess/predict which type of pitch will be throw using the coresponding key's.

Once you have selected these options, before the pitcher throws his pitch you will see how successful you have been in predicting the pitch. If the zone you predicted is correct you will see the zone flash in red to signify you selected the correct zone. If you have predicted the correct type of pitch (e.g. fastball), the outside square wil flash red to indicate that you have picked the correct pitch. Don't forget that the pitcher may throw a ball so beware!

Finally if you get either or both of these correct you then need to time your hit. You have 2 types to choose from. Either the X button for a contact swing, or the box button for a power swing. When choosing your swing you should consider who you are batting with and whterher or not they are a power hitter or contact hitter (batters 3-5 are normally your more powerful hitters).
