PS3 Games \ GTA IV Multiplayer Issues

Guys and Gals,

I have been having some serious issues when trying to play multiplayer online games. I keep getting "session no longer exists" or "Cannot access game server" messages constantly.

In most instances if I persist I can eventually get on but it normally takes about an hour of stuffing about to get access to multiplayer, then trying to start or play a multiplayer keeps spitting up that "session no longer exists".

Has anyone else been experiencing the same issues?

Also, who hosts the game servers? Is the problem that the loads are so high that they can't cope with the requests?

My mate (AUS copy) and I (US copy) try to play together online sometimes. And doesn't matter which one of us hosts, the other always gets that message.

Sometimes, it works (miracle!) through Multiplayer>Custom Game>Private Slots to 2, Start Game.

I think in the end, we decided that one of us joins a random game and once inside the multiplayer match, then invite the other player.

I don't know if it still happens to us or not. Waiting for final exams to finish, so we can spend more time online

Once we finally get online if there is a group of me and some mates we always do the custom game as it is the only way to have a good session.

The downside is there is normally only about 2-4 of us so the number of kills available is so low!

Would love to know why it's so hard to get stability...

Kept happening to me when I had been invited to join a game and getting that error message when trying to do so.

I also frequently get the loading screen error, where it just hangs there. Eventually when the game starts everyone else has already dropped out.

Overall the lobby system in this game is lacking
