6hr so far act 1 is same as in MGS2 and MGS3 but MGS4 ACT 1 is longer

Yeah, this is awesome. ONLY DISCUSSION OF ACT 1 HERE!!!
Act 1 took me about 3 and a half hours. Man, the introduction was freaking nuts, not expecting that crazy quiz-show at all.
I feel sorry for Akiba, though... Crapped his pants in the middle of the fight against the FROGs. 
And I was not expecting there to be so much swearing in MGS! O_O

That's Sad I was really hoping for my dad to play to since he liked MGS2, He will most likely not touch it now thanks to the swearing.
Is there some sort of Option to turn off the swearing ?
And same goes for the Blood like in MGS2 ?

into act 2 myself - there was a smaller install at the start of it - must be the same for all acts cause I didn't think the initial install was the 4BG as people were saying. It didn't take that long.
Anyway - love the game although when replaying it, frequent cut-scenes could be a bit of a pain even with the "skip" function.
Took me some 3hrs 50mins to finish first act....looks like act 2 will be some jungle fighting 
But I love the attention to detail - the "flashback" option during certain cut-scenes, the L1 button to zoom into certain views or get a different view on the cut-scene.......the little robot and camera control during briefing form Act 2 is kinda cool too......
This is an epic game. Nothing quite like it on any system.

No option to turn off the swearing. MGS4 is a big boys' game.

im presuming the end of act01 is when u meet liquid? cos i finished it in 3hrs 14 mins. looking foward to act 2 =]
btw i think the swearing is cool, shows more of a down to earth kinda feel to them; its not like snake is a gentleman or something =P

i just passed act 1 and wow!!! anyone know if you can snap the enemies neck or use them as a human shield like in the previous titles?? also how do you make the camo suit go back to default??
