HI all i just played this game today.
Something strange is happening with it.
First time worked fine now i just get a black screen.
Only loads up till it asks you to press the x button for hd access.
Then nothing but black!
Ive deleted all save files and instilation file but still happening. 
ALL OTHER GAMES ARE WORKING FINE!

Maybe you should take the game back to where ever you got it and get a different disc. That might help

well the setup might be the problem. if you have the PS3 set on an HD display and you dont have a HD display then it will screw up MGS4. and vis versa. it could be the region code you have set on your PS3 as well. just check the settings on your PS3. try all of them if you can.

It will be a problem with the disc guaranteed. Did you have to install anything before playing mgs? If so it could be that the installation could be corrupt and that you need to delete the installation files off your ps3 and re-install. But if not that then definately the disc.

Yeh did all that again and still aint working.
Ill take it back.
And to be completely honest i thought it was a boring game.
Well the bits i got to play.
Just feels like your controlling a movie, Move to this dot and sit back and watch. Then again move to this dot and watch movie. (yawn)
