Here’s a bargain I first noticed via Kotaku. Big W are having a massive toy sale and are selling the Xbox 360 Arcade edition for an impressive $278. Includes a wireless controller, 256mb memory card, and 5 arcade games (I’m guessing games like pac-man arcade etc).
They also sell a 12 month gold xbox live subscription which includes a headset and 200 MS points for $68.84.
You can add the HDD easily, in fact it is available at big w for $78.84.

Crazy actually has a point though. It's like the PS3, 40GB won't get me far, i've had it for a few days and already is half full.

Man you are touchy, it was fair question that I wanted the answer to as I have never owned a 360.
I like to play games online & Ive heard you need extras for that like the Live subscription & a wireless internet adapter or something & Im assuming the arcade edition doesnt have a hard drive as you mentioned it come with a memory card.
EDIT: So $425.68 get you online with a HDD & Live subscription. As for me being a fanboy, so far off the mark it aint funny.

yeah ok... i guess i read it as if 'S0NY' had written it sorry... yeah u can get a HDD for 78 at BIG W 20GB one... as for the wifi just use a cable

Thats an impressive price... but i don't think its worth me getting one because i already have the ps3. Ps3 really doesn't need to come down in price i think to compete.

You can check the model number by lifting a flap on the box, I'd be very surprised if their pre hdmi models considering the older stock was never on the shelves for long.
Using a wireless connection for gaming is NOT recommended! Gaming requires as stable a connection as possible, wireless networks have come a long way but are still inferior to a wired connection in every way.
LIVE works out at $5.75 a month with the card, plus the headset will never need recharging as it plugs into the controller.
Other factors I'm unsure about and buyers should check up on include, what cables are provided and is the controller wireless.
As for Hdd space, approx 15 gigs are usable, I've had a 360 since dec 06 and i have 9.5gigs free. Without my demos I'd have 11.5, unless your a consumer whore you'll have a hard time filling 15 gigs.
