im 15 i would not change any thing except to spend more time with my mum. she gave me so much and i kept pushing her away. gaming has ruined my life on so many levels but yet has given me so much. its given me so good friends but yet has pushed away the one thing that i need most. friends come and go but you only have one mother and one father. now my mothers passed away i wish i spent soo much more time with her and not playing wow or any other games that i was playing at the time. before her passing she let me stay home one day a week and you know what i did, i played call of duty 4 becouse i wanted to get up some ranks... noe how sad is that i can never, ever get thouse moments back and ive just wasted them. gaming has given me so mush yet still has taken so much away.

The only regret I have is that I only did Jennifer Hawkins the one time and won't get another shot at it!

Yea, thats what alot of people regret... grade 12 = crucial... still got 3 and half years till im there though.

funny thing is though......not one single employer i ever worked for (before i started my own business of course) ever once asked to see my HSC, or even asked me what my marks were!! and i still got the job most of the time....yeah sure your high school work is important, but its not the end of your life.....its the beginning. have fun while youre young, for sure, the older you get the less your body allows you to have fun. i think high school is more about learning how to balance playtime and worktime rather than learning the actual book stuff you go through.

gaming doesnt consume your life until you drop out of highschool so you can paly games i dropped out at 16 to 'start an apprenticeship' when all i wanted to do was play CS. i bludged at home for a year not even looking for work just csing pretty much 24/7.. online wars, heading off to lan etc. One day i woke up to myslef and realised i hated not having any money and bein a povo so i got up off my ass and found the apprenticeship. Now im doing plumbing which i love and am close to finishinh... so i guess in a way it was actually good that cs took over my life

im 16, would never change anything
if i could id stop time from moving forward right now. love the place im in, got some f**ken awesome mates, an incredible girlfriend (who i chased for 12 months ), coping well in school, have my health, fitness, happiness, my family around me, no bills, enough responsibility, a ps3 and a good community of people to share it with life should never change
but even if people make mistakes, i dont like the mindset "i wish i couldve changed things"
rilo, i sympathise for you, and can understand your anguish, but your mum saw something which made you happy and sacrificed time with you to see you that way, the best way you can repay that now is to make a real good go at life and do something which would make her proud
no use dwelling on the past, learn from experiences and dont let it happen again thats my two cents, great thread

Woah man, I feel sorry for you. Sorry that it had to happen to you. Anywho, I also do regret the days I played WoW/RS, I was really depressed and aggro at my parents. But now I balance out my gaming... And to also spend more time with family (Mother)

rilo mate, thats really sad to hear bro, you dont know how much, but its these harshest times of suffering which can bring out the inner strength and resolve needed to get through this world. whenever you have doubts now, especially if its related to your ability to keep ur gaming under control for whatever reason, or just anytime you seek inner resolve, you can think of her and she will give you that strength dude. just like tommo47 said, turn anguish into inspiration. then when you DO succeed, it's the proudest feeling ever.

I'm 22 and i wouldn't start again because i simply cant rewind time. Sucks for those who cant rewind the clock...only people with perfect lives say "Life is full of regret, learn from it and move on" Some people do find it difficult to move on from something they have regretted or mistakes they have made, you simply cant just "forget it and move on" if only it were that simple. Some mistakes live with you forever, and no matter how brilliant your life alters in the long run, those mistakes will never be easily forgotten. Im from Croatia, and my accent is a mistake, a mix of Croatian and Australian = a mess of an accent, but i've never regretted moving to Australia, love it here I do miss Croatia abit though, maybe spending more time there in my teen days would be something i wish i did back then.
