Social \ would you recommend final fantasy xii?

Just wondering would anyone recommend Final Fantasy XII, i have 10 but I dunno it is kinda slow paced ie. takes a while to get into battle, not a big turn based fan - havent completed yet

I like Kingdom Hearts...obviously and im looking for a satisfying rpg experience

Well, the story isn't as immersive and character driven, it's more of a political story...and the characters just happen to be there for the ride. The new battle system is intriguing, not spectacular. One gripe is the fact that it's one massive ****ing grind fest.

Essentially, what is supposed to be a 30 hour game, is doubled, because you have to grind a **** ton.

But for so cheap...why not?

Overall it was a good game but It went on a bit to long in some places and I didn’t like it as much as I had previous FF titles.

other then that the sin concept is quite enjoyable. Not quite sure where im up to but its a fair while after the blitzball game - i bought the game last year and havent got that far

could you relate the story to a movie?
and are the characters memorable?

Unfortunately I can't relate it to a movie. But the story is centered around a nation that gets attacked, and your typical cliche' "small time" nobody gets caught up in it. It's more about war, and poliyics (as aforementioned) It doesn't really focus on the characters as much as it should. And you, the protagonist kinda ends up getting pushed around a lot.

Sorry I can't really explain it all that well. I think FF12 was like a testing ground for Squeenix, to try new things. Despite getting good reviews...not as memorable as any of the previous games.

I wouldn't recommend FF12 unless it was cheap, and you got it cheap.

Personally though I didn't like the characters, and the areas between towns were too long and big, which cut into everything else (ie a decent story line).
Because of the vastness of the wilderness and so forth there didn't seem to be as many towns as in other FF games.

The battle system was alright, although I'm not a big fan of those kinds of RPGs (I admit it, I like turn based

).

But overall I guess it wasn't that bad a game. Only marginally crappier than FFX-2 in my opinion.
