Playstation 3 Software & Firmware \ Was haze really THAT bad?

ive been playing a bit of haze tonight and fair enuff, it didnt redefine FPSing like it promised. but is it really as bad as it was reviewed? i actually enjoy it. IMO its a solid FPS, fair enuff its not amazing, but still a good game. i think it may have just got a bum wrap because of what it was EXPECTED to do. not what it actually delivered.

I actually thought it had some pretty good ideas going for it, i really loved the Nectar Knife and some of the traps. But yeah it was very disappointing, it failed at so much. Visually it looked like junk. It had its moments but i expected abit better considering this is from the same guys who bought us the Timesplitter games.

like i said, it was no amazing FPS, but i think it was a good FPS.
if they could run with the same idea's and do a bit better job on the graphics and script work on haze 2. they might just have a good title on their hands.

I agree with callan5. I have the game, haven't finished it yet. It's kinda fun playing it. Especially the 4-player co-op. But I'm thinking of trading it in (with another game) at JB for the next big PS3 game ...

Hmm, I wouldn't be so sure. Guerrilla Games still started to work on Killzone 2, after the disappointment of the first Killzone. Maybe they'll learn from their mistakes and realise what is important to most gamers ...

Negative!!!! I thought killzone 1 is a awesome game it was quite a unique and fun game to play and the story line was good too.

Dude. Chill, I wasn't saying it was a bad game. I wasn't even dissing it. I was just saying how Killzone received mixed reviews ... and that just because the developer cops a lot of crap, doesn't mean they give up. They keep trying and learn from mistakes ... and end up developing something promising like Killzone 2

Haze was bad because the amount of marketing free-radical used, it made out it was some epic game, on the scale of KZ2, and MGS etc. So when the finished product came, after all those months of bragging, and people were pumped for this amazing experience...you can just imagine the discontent.

The game lured people to buy it on hype alone.

Exactly, they made us think it was MGS4, then released a Turok, lol. Funny thing is, I was thinking 'was Haze really that bad', like, three days ago. Replayed the demo and, yes, it was... Not to mention the horrible vehicle parts I heard were later in the game.
