lol, I dont think this is really going to affect anything. But those people really didnt know what they where talking about. We do have a ratings system for games its exatly the same format as everything esle. We just dont have an R18 rating

Exactly one of them says anyone can buy a game but I believe MA game are restricted to 15 and above. The rating system is now the same as movies minus the R rating, it used to be different with G8+ and all that but it's now basically the same.

Why can't we do a Z rating like the Japanese's Cero Z.
Individuals must ask at the counter for a specific Z-rated film/game, and then the storekeeper will bring the movie/game out (after proof of age of course).
Surely this will make parents think "oh, this must be "pretty bad" if I actually need to ask for it when every other new release is displayed on the shelves".
Does anyone think this is a good idea? Having a rating more serious than R, where it can't be displayed on store shelves, and can't be actively advertised in public areas.

... just use the R rating, but keep the R rated games at the back of the store. Cannot be displayed on shelves, only brought out on request by the customer after proof of age.
But I guess the only problem is that under 18s would have probably learned about an upcoming R rated game on the internet already ...

That is certainly not the case with the many (over 100) stores I purchased Z rated games from (PS2 & PS3 games).
Scenario:
I (I'm young looking, lol) walk into the store, grab the Z rated game from the shelf.
The store clerk then cowars (I know, I know, it's not a word) away from the register, knowing full well that I'm an Otaku Gaijin. I call a clerk over, they grab the disk from their shelf and with no questions asked, I purchase the adults only game. Too easy, mate.

Who wants to go out and kill some hookers with me? I love to do it after every round of GTA IV. I may just beat up some old people too while I am at it. I am a father and school teacher and a few drug references and scenes of explicit gore have only led me to hurt the children a little bit.
Martin Bryant who went on a rampage in tassie had been watching violent videos apparently. Obviously some people are just psychos and they will be attracted in an unhealthy way towards violent things. I play battlefield online because I enjoy the satisfaction of outsmarting people tactically. Not because I like to watch them bleed and scream (which they don't in BF BC anyway).
Bring on that R18+ rating. I wouldn't complain if games including rape or something got totally banned but is the nookie in GTAIV really worse than anything you have seen on telly?
