it will last until they max out the capacity in bluray and need for different medium to work on. as of now they havent even used 1/2 of its capacity yet. ps2 life is pretty much starting to end when they need dual layer dvd for some games.

and how long did PS1 last for but anyway PS4 is aim 1yr to 6month after next gen consoles come which look really soon since nintendo is all rdy in Development and next gen will all Focus on Full HD 1080p so true HD

Like someone mentioned earlier, we could be playing on VR or tv glasses or chips embeded in our brains, its narrow minded to think we will still be using a tv.

lol, i remember back in NES days, when that hand grip controller came out that you had to strap onto your hand/wrist.....i saw one in a pic here the other day, uh, this one!
back then when that thing came out everyone thought virtual reality gaming was just around the corner too.....like by 2000 or something

VR did exist. In the late 90's heaps of club's and pubs had VR machines. They had the full helmet tv and sound, and a controller that could be a gun or a sword and in the game you could see you arm moving when you moved it.

lol, i had a dream about designing a virtual reality console with graphics so real, that you would atoumatically crap your pants. but not too realistic cause thats just boring, but close. luckily i still remeber all the designs and everything.
i think the wii has really changed gaming for the better but too bad it had to be nintnedo with crap, unrealistic games. if sony had thought of something like that, then gaming would be something totally different. thats just my opinion

next gen of consoles will just Focus on Full HD 1080p and be more realistic games more Polygon and textures like they be doing for last 30yr of videogames

Or change. Out of all of the next gen games, how many are new and unique? Even the next games in a series, like for example, grand theft, are just basicaly remakes with better graphics. There seems to be more new game ideas being used on the psn, than in full games. Games like pain super stardust echocrome, are all different to the standard game fair. Little big planet is one of the few games on the horizon, for the ps3, that is totally new and unique.
