you will have to wait till it comes out.. no1 knows the sale/end of stock prices.. id say round the $500 - $550 mark as a guess

I also believe the stores will be doing a return of the 40gigs, getting 80 gig as replacement stock. Sony then refurbed the 40's back up to 80's.

End result - no price drop on the 40's unfortunately.....
