Hi all,
So I have been noticing some ghosting on my TV set when using the PS3.
Im using a Mad Catz component cable on my Toshiba 76cm CRT. My TV supports up to 1080i but I have set my PS3 to 720p due to some diagonal lines appearing on screen.
At 720p I notice ghosting occurring on the XMB and at times in game. It’s not that bad but compared to when I play it on my mums 46cm Bravia via HDMI its not good at all.
I have connected my TV and PS3 via a Belkin power board which apparently reduces electromagnetic noise.
Note: The hdmi cable I use is from play-Asia and cost around $7. The results are faultless & this is proof you don’t need a Monster cable worth $200!
As a comparison I also have an Xbox (1) connected via component cables which doesn’t have any display issues and this is also running at 720p. (my xbox is modified and enabled for HD output). Funnily enough this is using a cheap generic set of cables which I got for free when I modded my xbox.
Does anyone else have problems with component cables? Does the problem above sound like the cables or the TV are at fault?
All suggestions welcome..
