you can watch youtube, yes.
there is another thing called the PS eye which is used like a webcam type thing with some weird features and also is used in the game EOJ (eye of judgement).
not sure about torrent downloading although I wouldn't see the point. at all..
media can be streamed ps3+TV, set up a media server with programs such as tversity and nero 7. there are tutorials on the net as to how to set one up. basically it allows you to stream stuff on your pc over to your PS3 using a router or whatever u've got hooked up.
