Playstation 3 Hardware \ My PS3 may have another problem.....dun dun dun!

I just had my PS3 in stand by mode, then I turned it on again. It took a while to boot up, and displayed nothing on the screen for about 5 seconds and it actually beeped an extra time. So it beeped once, then beeped again and took a little while longer to load.

After that it all works fine still and has not done it since. Has anybody had this happen before?

DAMMIT!!!!! WRONG BOARD.......AGAIN!

Yeah I know I do worry to much lol, but meh, what can you do about it lol

I think I am only worrying to much because it is an $800 peice of equipment and everything must be perfect. Also because I want to work out if my console has any defects before my 30 day in store warranty runs out. After those 30 days I will worry less though

I am not so much worried, because I have a feeling it might be normal and the hard drive just had to load some extra data so it beeped an extra time and took longer.

I am just trying to find out as much info as I can on the PS3 before my in store warranty runs out.

cos me and everyone who comes over to my house smokes alot, plus having fans going on the floor 24-7 in the summer attracts swarms of dust in the swirling breezes.

my best friend, apart from the vacuum, is those pledge grab-it electrostatic dust cloths....those things are amazing! the dust sticks to them like glue....unlike dusting with tissues which just pushes it around the place and piles it up!

Mine does this all the time only after playing games. I have been through three PS3 consoles and they all make the same beeping noises, no need to worry.

The problem I actually had though, was that it beeped twice on start up and did not display the picture until it went into the XMB. I missed the Playstation Intro thingy at the start, so it kinda froze I guess.

When I was playing Uncharted before, my disc drive started to make this kind loud noises. It sounded like the disc spun really quick, then stopped. 5 seconds later it would spin really fast, then stop. It would continue for a little bit then stop, and come back.

yeah the weird beep pause beep thing on start up......the fan stops and starts too yeah?....mine behaves alot like a pc. its frozen quite a few times where the ps button is the only way out, plus its also frozen a few times where even the ps button was non-responsive.....always ends the same, hold down the on/off button, eventually you hear the three beeps and it shuts down. apparently if you dont hear the three beeps then your in trouble, thats the only barrier mine hasnt crossed yet, thank god

wow a whole 5 seconds , cmon , get a grip, its not out of the ordinary for it to do this occassionally.

Although I did have one little problem which scared me a little. My PS3 wouldn't load up my CoD4 game for some odd reason. I inserted the disc and right after the PLAYSTATION 3 screen, it just went blank. It didn't load up the next screen.
I waited for like 10 minutes, and it still didn't load.

The controller wasn't working as well, so I couldn't get to the screen with the "System Off" button and I couldn't reset it manually, the Standby button wasn't working. So I switched it off and turned it back on using the Power off and on button at the back.
It worked after that. It scared me pantsless, I thought I broke my new PS3 after spending so much on it.
