Playstation 3 Hardware \ HDMI + Optical, help pls

But the PS3 Settings, Audio will not allow me to SAVE as Digital Out, it wants to keep HDMI which means NO sound.

Under Sound Settings, if I look at the Audio Output Settings it comes up as Digital Out (Optical) highlighted.

I found I had to use a WIRED controller to save the optical.

yeah ive done the same as the above posters. HDMI to my TV and optical to my surround sound. your audio must let you save it as optical and not HDMI. thats very odd indeed.
