Playstation 3 Hardware \ No signal when using HDMI

Hi - I cannot seem to get any signal using HDMI cable on a Samsung F81 LCD. The signal is present when using normal AV cable. I have tried re-setting the console, no luck.

Any ideas ? Its driving me up the wall !!

Yep....it just reads 'Signal Not Found'......when the AV cable is then plugged in (and HDMI removed), it finds the signal straight away......

I am almost convined to just get a Component/AV cable, and be done with HDMI altogether. It is really annoying the cr@p out of me as to why it won't recognise a HDMI signal....

Dude i get this with my philips LCD, sometimes the hdmi isnt picked up when switching plugs or powering off the ps3. What I'd try and do is have the hdmi plugged etc, but turn the TV off at the TV or the wall then turn it back on. Hopefully it will re-synch and work normally after that.

Oh sorry make sure the ps3 is turned on as well (and dont just use the remote to turn on teh tv etc), the tricks the tv power switch or the wall switch.

hold the pwr button for a 10sec when u turn it on... will reset the display settings, lest u choose HDMI on startup

You could possibly have both plugged in (hoping the PS3 will startup on Component) then choose HDMI?

I thought the re-set option was done by holding down the button for only 5 seconds ? I only have 1 cable (either AV or HDMI) plugged in at startup, so it can only choose one, not get confused by having 2 in

Getting a TV with HDMI inputs was one of the main reasons for buying that tele.......not being able to use it is a major pita....
