Ok, I finally got this working (TVersity and Nero refuses to work for me, I don't understand why). However, I have a question that I'm hoping someone would know the answer to. Is it possible to edit the file system of WMP?

At the moment, the structure is like this (I'll use Music as an example):

- All Music
- Genre
- All Artists
- Contributing Artists
- Album Artists
- Composers
- Albums
- Rating
- Music Playlist
- Folders

I know I can access my stuff through "Folders" (like I'm accessing it on my computer) but I'm wondering if I can get rid of the other junk (e.g. Genre, Contributing Artists etc).

I just want to be able to open the Media Server, click on Music ... and there are all my folders ... exactly how I organised it on my PC.

Is this possible? Am I making sense?

but im not sure if its possible...
i currently browse through the 'folders' option also, it may be possible to remove the other browsing options but i doubt it...they couldnt make it too easy for us..
i'll do some playing when i get home and let you know if i have any luck.

Sorry Steve, I don't get what you're saying. Are you referring to the "Media Sharing - Customize" window in Windows Media Player?

s76 understands what I mean, what I'm after.

the 360 media sharing is so slow and tedious. especially if you have alot of files in one folder

My WMP library is a mess. Spending time to make it neat would take months.

Got music from English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, German and a little bit of Russian now.

basically just saying I don't think you can ssort it differently, can you press triangle for options? let me know if you find a way.

I'm thinking, if we want to edit the library structure ... it has to be done in WMP on your PC ...

yeah looks like there arnt options to edit the catagories on the PS3...
putting your files in a logical order/scheme on the PC and just browsing throught the folder option seems like the best we can do (at the moment)

if you use a divX converter you can store your movies as an endcoded .avi file, which takes less space, and youcan adjust the quality and aspect ratio. I haven't done it myself but I know you can. I'm sure if you googled ripping a dvd to divX you will find something
