Playstation 3 Hardware \ My ps3 is just stane alone, no internet, is this OK?

I've only has wireless mobile broadband at home, hence my PS3 never ever connect to internet, if i'm buying GTA4, what happen if the game need to run any update, can this game play completely offline w/o any online updates, will this screw up my PS3 or game will not play? I've checked that my ps3 is on 2.20 firmware right now.

Don't want to buy GTA4 ended up not able to play at all ...
what happen to future games which need to use higher version of firmware, will the update comes on the game disc itself??? THX!

Games will work out of the box you dont need net connectivity. If an update is needed, I would think that it would come on the disk like the PSP games do. You also can download updates from any PC and copy them over to your ps3.

If you just bought a new PS3 with standard firmware, it's won't lets you run the game the all...that is what happened to my mate PS3..and he have no internet...

if not you can always download it from the website and ptu ti on a memory stick, as for game updates, I think been connected is the only way to get them

U can download the updated firmware file using computer, and copy it to memory stick /ps3/update/, put in ps3, choose update from media card.

If your computer have network adapter card, I think maybe u can share the internet using a cable connected to your ps3.
