08 was virtually impossible to me. Driving was insane, never got the hang of the sensitivity levels and couldn't hit the fairways at all, and this after many years of pretty good scores on PS2 versions. Avoid.
I believe 07 on the PS3 was better. But online some lagging. haven;t seen much of 09, but more of the same I suspect (what else can a golf game deliver now?), but hopefully with more manageable driving... kinda depends if you wanna buy cheap 2nd hand (07) or new (09) I guess?
