Unless you've been living under a rock, you would have noticed that Guitar Hero has all but taken over the music-game genre. The franchise has evolved into one of the most commercially and critically successful ever, with a formula that looks set to never lose steam.
Enter DJ Hero, the latest entry to the "Hero" brand name, which has you controlling a turn-table controller to beats on the screen, much in the same fashion as the guitar notes in Guitar Hero.
The track list looks awesome from the trailers we've seen so far, with some insane remixes of old classics with contemporary hip-hop and rock.

Not much is known about this title from inXile Entertainment. However, it looks set to offer an intriguing experience as you take charge of a group of renegade criminals as they run rampant in San Fransisco circa-1969.

After the stunning first title, Uncharted 2 is easily one of the most anticipated games, not just for the PS3, but also across the entire board.
Footage shown at E3 showed off once again a lush landscape with beautiful environments and great gameplay. One of this generations best adventurer titles gets its first sequel in Uncharted 2: Among Theives.

After EA's SKATE redefined how we played skateboarding games, Tony Hawk went back to the drawing board, before finally coming out of hiding at E3 2009 and showing off RIDE.
Tony Hawk: RIDE comes packed with a skateboard peripheral, allowing gamers to skate as they would in real-life (without actually moving). Will it pack the punch and offer an all-new and innovative experience as SKATE did, or will it offer the same old Tony Hawk experience that we've gotten since the late 90s? We think the former.

Released in May 2004, Red Dead Revolver was a fantastic new addition to the FPS genre. It was the first true Western FPS, offering great gameplay and that typical Rockstar charm and humour.
After being rumoured since all the way back in 2005, Red Dead Redemption, the official sequel, was announced a few months back and is set for release in the 2010 fiscal year (November 09 - April 2010).
The game is set in 1908; it focuses around a former bandit, John Marston, who is sent across the troubled American Frontiers to help in bringing the rule of law. The original was a terribly underrated and under-appreciated game, and we all know of the quality that Rockstar bring to the table.

Dragon Age: Origins is a role-playing game currently in development by BioWare's Edmonton studio. Dragon Age: Origins utilizes a new game engine named Eclipse and it has been confirmed that a toolset for creation of fan-made content will be included, though it is a single-player only game.
This RPG is highly anticipated among fans of the genre, and will be hitting the PS3, 360 and PC later this year.

The first Assassin's Creed was met with mixed reviews. While the idea, story and environments were all great, the gameplay got repetitive quickly. Still, the original title has a strong following, and the sequel looks set to improve on its shortcomings with more gameplay aspects and an even more complex and emotional plot.
Early reports are that the game has plenty of surprises and one of the most spectacular overall presentations ever seen in a game. We've seen the game first-hand at a Ubisoft event here in Melbourne, and we're confident that this will be one of the best games of 2009.

Army of Two isn't the best game going around, but the co-op multiplayer aspects were actually quite good.
Army of Two: The 40th Day looks set to evolve on the few great aspects of the original, offering a deeper and more challenging experience the second time round.

Do we really need to say much about this title? Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the most played games ever, offering an amazing online experience that is still heavily populated today.
Infinity Ward have promised a longer and deeper single-player component to accompany the multiplayer, although we doubt anyone really cares.
Come November 10, 2009, this will be the most played game on XBOX Live and PSN without a doubt. It's one of the most anticipated games of 2009 and is high up on our list.

It's definitely hard to get excited about a fighting game, but die-hard fans of the genre have been waiting for this to come to the West and consoles ever since it hit arcades in Japan almost 2 years ago.
With plenty of new characters and features, this looks set to be the biggest Tekken title yet and an absolute must-have for fans of the genre and franchise.

This first-person tactical military simulation title is set to offer a realistic military combat experience. The game is set in a fictional island off of Japan, which is being hotly fought for between Russia and China. The US intervenes, and it's your job to take control of a soldier and help take the island on behalf of the Russians.
Offering a completely free-roaming world, the title has been highly anticipated ever since it was announced. Other titles in the series haven't been that successful, yet this title looks set to break the trend after early previews and reports claiming it to offer a challenging and deep tactical experience.

This first-person, futuristic RPG action title from Gearbox was announced a while back and looks set to be one of the best titles of 2009.
Much in the vein of Fallout, players will experience the planet of Pandora as it switches from Winter to Spring, and many of the planets frightening creatures come out of hibernation. Due to the planets slow orbiting (it takes seven Earth years for one season to pass), humans are left to fight and fend for themselves after the rich leave the planet and leave the less fortunate to fight each other for survival.
Early previews have been extremely promising, with talk of plenty of weaponry and action, as well as a deep and interesting plot.

On a global scale, EA Sports' FIFA game franchise is probably its biggest. While NBA Live and Madden each have their own strong and large communities, FIFA is growing and getting better by the year, and 2010 looks to be no different.
Set for release in October, 2009, FIFA Football 10 brings back many of the great features from the fantastic FIFA 09, while offering plenty of other great features.
It is without a doubt the most anticipated sports title of the year and one we think every 360 sports fan should own come release.

The first DiRT title was a surprise success, both critically and commmercially. Offering probably one of the most challenging rally racing experiences ever, DiRT was a gorgeous looking title with realistic crashing and handling physics.
DiRT 2 should continue on the trend, and we're looking forward to hopping back into the car and racing round the tracks. As long as it maintains the challenge and realism of the first, it's a day one purchase!

Just when you thought the Guitar Hero franchise was losing a bit of steam, the fifth official sequel in Guitar Hero 5 is announced. While we've seen plenty of spin-offs in the franchise, it doesn't look set to slow down anytime soon.
While the tracklist hasn't really impressed up until now, it still offers plenty of great songs to rock out to. The full-band experience only adds worth to the franchise, and with Band Hero announced for a future release, it may be goodnight for Guitar Hero after this latest entry hits stores.
Still, it'll be a must-have for fans of the genre and franchise, as Activision continue to support its titles heavily with great DLC.

It was only a matter of time before it happened, but The Beatles are finally hitting consoles.
Rock Band was the lucky franchise to grab the licensing rights, with a great tracklisting (and high price point). With the game officially announced at E3 2009, anticipation has been high for the title. It is set to go head-to-head with DJ Hero and Guitar Hero 5, but we have our money on The Beatles Rock Band to take the trophy.
Even if you're not a fan of The Beatles, this is a once-in-a-lifetime title.

When announced a few months back, fans of the first two Max Payne titles were excited to finally hear something about the hero coming to current-generation consoles.
Early screens and previews have been promising, but with Rockstar currently focusing on Red Dead Redemption, we expect this title to push back to an early-mid 2010 release.
