PS3 News \ EyePet benefited from Eight Days and Getaway cancellations
At the recent Leipzig Games Convention, EyePet was shown to be amazed by millions of people. The game benefited from the controversial cancellations of other SCEE games, such as Eight Days and Getaway.
Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida told GI.biz.
Yes, there are so many things that we want to do, more than we can do with the resources. So when London Studio was looking at the early work on EyePet and the prototype of Eight Days, they knew they couldn't do all of them - and there are even more things they're working on at early concept stage.
London Studios has been told for their work on titles such as Singstar and other PS2/PS3 Eye games.
London Studio is really best-placed for showing how these things can be done, because they've worked on games in that space for many years - they know how consumers are going to react, how to make it accessible and fun.

I still can't believe that they canceled Eight days AND Getaway for this little $12 PS Store game, I mean really come on!!!!, They even had eight days as a tech demo at e3 ages ago!!!!

well i have never seen a kid with a ps3
doesnt mean they dont exist, the same could of been said about the ps2 when it was first released but how many kiddie games are out for that console, they are developing games for the future ps3 owners aswell, remember all the eyetoy games , they still being made & have sold very well.

I don't see this as a game you'd play "properly".
Play around, hey that's pretty cool, look how interactive it is ... 3 minutes later, "Quit Game".

I agree. I want Eight Days and Getaway back ...
I don't see this as a game you'd play "properly".

Its all about the money & making a profit, they proberly a few surveys & analysed some data & came up with the conclusion that Eyepet will sell a ****load & Eight Days would only sell a small load LOL
Eyepet can go on selling copies for years to come while a game like Eight Days will initially sell well but then would stop selling.
