PS3 News \ Silent Hill: Homecoming refused classification in Australia
GameSpot Australia has revealed that Silent Hill: Homecoming has been refused classification in Australia.
An Atari Australia spokesperson said that the "Classification Board had found issue with the game's depictions of violence". The board is set to have made reference in the report to blood spray, decapitation, dismemberment and depictions of torture.
Because a rating of R18+ is not possible for video-games in Australia, anything deemed to be above a rating of MA15+ is banned and refused right to be sold in the country.
Atari and Konami are working on plans to revise the game for Australian audiences, however GameSpot Australia reported that any release was "on the backburner until early next year".

Absolutely spot on here, which is why all games i buy are now imported, there is really no reason to buy retail anymore when you can get a title earlier and cheaper. On the topic of Silent Hill Homecoming itself, apart from depictions of torture being the reason for banning, it was also said that the environments played apart in the refusal, everything is smattered in blood and gore, the walls, the floors you name it. It sounds so intense and i certainly wont be missing out.
