First Real Playstation 4 Information?

Goto Hiroshige has recently received information relating the Specifications for the Playstation 4, from the Japanese Developer. Could the information below really be for the next gen console, Playstation 4?

Here are the Specifications:

- SCEI has sent rough PSX4 spec to 3rd party developers for feed back. Based on the description, PSX4 is a Wii-tized PSX3, no more than 2X as powerful.

- SCEI wants to beat Xbox 3 to launch. 2011 is the deadline, or sooner.

- SCEI pulled all its engineers from IBM Texas, and there is no new CELL architecture being developed. PSX4 will use same CELL architecture with improvements.

- SCEI will dump XDR and use standard JEDEC memory type(GDDR3/DDR3) for main memory.

given the ps3 is only 2 years into its 10 year minimum lifetime (as previously stated by sony) i really don't think they'd push another one out that soon....sure they might be tossing around ideas and doing some r&d....but we won't see the console for quite a while yet....

maybe not quite 10 but at least 7 (regardless of anyone else's predictions, I've had a few lucky guesses in the IT industry lately) although maybe even 12 but no more than 15, so yeh, defiantly fake

Although i don't believe the PS4 will be bout in 2011, I do think however that when Sony finally releases the ultimate features for the PS3 through firmware updates etc. we will probably already have heard about the PS4's launch date!

Sony needs to be much quicker with adding cool features, otherwise the potential of this awesome console goes untapped and more and more dumbasses will pickup a 360 instead.

That is damn exciting news, i'd love a new Playstation, just thinking of the possibilities and the features it could have this time around almost blows my mind. But they do need to let the PS3 breath a little, give it atleast another 2 to 3 solid years for it to flesh itself as a console and its game library abit.

Do u think that PS3 was possibly a short life peice of crap that will be replaced soon?? I certainly hope not. We've all been played for chum's if so The Ps2 has lasted like 10 years so I don't think any PSX4 is coming out anytime soon.

2013 is more realistic but I can see why they would want to beat Microsoft to the next release, by releasing the PS3 1 year after the 360 they lost alot of the market share but they are slowly getting that back.

the 10 year lifespan refers to how long the console would be supported, for example the PS2 is still supported by SONY with new games. I wouldnt be pissed, its the Microsoft fans who should be annoyed, the xbox was released a long time after the PS2 yet was replaced by the 360 fairly quick.

I doubt we'll see a new console in 2011 or before, but 2x as powerful as the PS3 is possible, if it is released sooner rather than later there's only so much more than can be improved technology wise.

I'm guessing the new Nintendo console will be slightly more powerful than Wii, with built in cartridge support just to keep gaming hardware so last gen, call it Wii lite As for MS,pfft judging by the flop that was Vista, both Sony & Nin have nothing to fear, i'm guessing a full Direct X mini computer that needs to be watercooled and it will have an even lamer "dashboard" With the same live service they've been milking fools with since Xbox,oh yeah it's console scrapping time.

Hope not cause I haven't got a Wii yet, and if/when I get one I'd like it to last a little longer than 2 or 3 years (depending on when I get one).

As for the PS4, I doubt these specs are for a PS4. Maybe a PS3 slim? Or another PS3 with a larger or smaller HDD. Wonder if it would have PS2 backwards compatibility though?
