News \ Sony: PS3 Will Get DVR, Digital Tuner Next Year
We already know that PS3 is not only a gaming machine and a high definition movie player, but also a computer, according to the marketing folks at Sony. But there's more in store -- Sony New Zealand has announced plans for a digital tuner and DVR functionality for PS3 coming next year.
"We're also hoping next year – about the same time that Freeview launches its terrestrial broadcasting service (expected to be in March) – to release a digital tuner for the PlayStation 3, turning it into a programmable TV recorder," said Warwick Light, of Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand to Stuff.co.nz.
